Andy Murray praised Nick” kyrgios> Citi Open title in Washington. The British player is a close friend of the Australian and he was happy to see Kyrgios delivering his best tennis for the first time in a while. “I do not know a lot of people who do not like to see him play,” said Murray.

“I am not saying that the people who watch him want him to win badly, but it’s nice. You want to see him. When he is committed at his best, he is so talented, he can beat the best players. He makes the crowd get involved and that’s good.

He is unpredictable, but you have to be ready for that. When I play against him, I know anything can happen. I expect the unexpected, so I am ready for it. I focus on my side of the court. His serve is great, one of the best. When he is focused like he was in Washington, he is very good.”

Murray is playing doubles at the Rogers Cup this week in Montreal with Feliciano Lopez. The Queen’s men’s doubles champions won their first-round match on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Daniil Medvedev, who lost to Kyrgios in the final last week, commented on what makes himself tough for his opponents: “I think except of course my serve, the biggest challenge for my opponents is that I’m really good at putting the balls back in play, as you said.

That’s what I’m trying to do. If you miss the ball, you lose the point. You need to put it (on) the court no matter how hard it is. That’s kind of my mentality. That’s the toughest for my opponent, I think. Still, I’m able to play aggressive if I need to. I’m able to have different styles of my game.”
