France’s Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut have qualified for the Nitto” atp finals> event for the fifth consecutive year. The Frenchmen have played together only six tournaments this year but earning 2,000 points for winning the Australian Open was enough to secure them a place at the season-ending event.
After failing to make it past the Round Robin stage at the Nitto ATP Finals in their first three appearances, Herbert and Mahut fell just short of winning it all at the event last year as they ended runners-up in the final to USA’s Mike Bryan and Jack Sock.
Herbert and Mahut, who completed a Career Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open, will be among the top favorites to win the title at The O2 Arena in London from November 10-17. Meanwhile, Germany’s Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies are set to debut at the Nitto ATP Finals after booking a spot for the season-ending event.
Krawietz and Mies, who are enjoying a breakthrough season on the Tour, claimed their maiden Grand Slam title at the French Open and also conquered New York and Antwerp.
